Welcome to Heartland Millenial

For the generation that grew up, grew up again, and is still figuring out what we’re doing.

Remember when the internet made that weird screeching noise?

When Friday night meant renting a movie, grabbing some snacks, and staying up way too late?

When you had to wait for your favorite song to come on the radio because there was no such thing as “skip”?

Yeah. We remember.

And somehow, those kids grew up to become adults who have opinions about grocery prices, work-life balance, home décor, retirement accounts, and why every subscription service wants our money.

Welcome to Heartland Millenial.

A little corner of the internet for millennials who grew up in the ’90s, remember the good stuff, laugh at the ridiculous stuff, and are doing their best to navigate whatever adulthood decided to throw at us next.

📼 A Little Nostalgia Never Hurt Anyone

There are some things you never really outgrow.

The music. The movies. The TV shows. The fashion choices we thought were a good idea.

The toys we desperately wanted.

The technology that now looks hilariously outdated.

The little pieces of childhood that somehow still make us smile decades later.

Here, we’re bringing some of those memories back—and maybe asking the important questions, like:

Why did we ever think those jeans looked good?

🌎 The World Through a Millennial Lens

The world changes fast.

Sometimes it’s fascinating. Sometimes it’s confusing. Sometimes it’s enough to make you want to turn off your phone, crawl under a blanket, and pretend it’s 1999 again.

We’ll take a look at what’s happening around us through a relatable millennial perspective—with a little humor, a little curiosity, and plenty of “well, this is where we are now” moments.

No pretending to have all the answers.

Just observations, conversations, and the occasional raised eyebrow.

💼 Adulting Was Not What We Were Promised

Remember being a kid and thinking adults had everything figured out?

Cute.

Now we’re the adults.

Here you’ll find thoughts and conversations about careers, work life, money, finances, and all those responsibilities that somehow appeared while we were busy trying to remember our AOL passwords.

Because adulthood doesn’t always look like we imagined.

And sometimes the best thing you can do is laugh about it with people who understand.

🏡 Things We Like, Use & Want to Share

You know that friend who sends you a message that says:

“Okay, you need to know about this.”

That’s the energy we’re going for.

Products worth talking about. Things that make everyday life easier. Home and lifestyle finds. Random discoveries. Things that make us nostalgic. Things that make us laugh.

Basically, if it’s something I think another millennial might genuinely enjoy, appreciate, or relate to, it belongs here.

😂 Because We Might as Well Laugh About It

Life is serious enough.

There are bills. Work emails. Grocery prices. Passwords. Responsibilities. News alerts. App updates we didn’t ask for.

So let’s laugh when we can.

Heartland Millenial is a place for the observations that make you think:

“Wait… am I the only one?”

Probably not.

You’re Probably in the Right Place If…

You remember when phones had cords.

You had a favorite CD—or an entire CD binder.

You know what it means to “be kind and rewind.”

You remember when social media was basically MySpace.

You still know the words to songs you haven’t heard in 20 years.

You occasionally miss a time when nobody could reach you after you left the house.

You grew up hearing that adulthood would be easier than this.

You have absolutely no idea where the last 20 years went.

And you sometimes find yourself saying…

“They don’t make things like they used to.”

Yep.

You’re one of us.

Stay Awhile

Whether you’re here for the nostalgia, the laughs, the real-life observations, the useful stuff, or simply because something caught your attention…

I’m glad you found your way here.

Take a look around.

Read something that takes you back.

Find something useful.

Laugh at something painfully relatable.

Discover something you didn’t know you needed.

And maybe send something to a friend with the words:

“This is SO us.”

Because growing up may have happened whether we were ready for it or not.

But that doesn’t mean we have to leave everything we loved about being younger behind.

Welcome to Heartland Millenial.

The internet may have changed.

We’re still here.
