About Me

Hey, Welcome to Heartland Millenial

A little nostalgia, a little chaos, and a whole lot of figuring it out.

Remember when the biggest problem in your day was your Tamagotchi dying, your favorite song not coming on the radio, or your parents picking up the phone while you were on the internet?

Same.

Somewhere between watching TRL, waiting for a new episode of our favorite sitcom, and learning how to use AIM away messages, we grew up.

And now we’re expected to understand mortgages, retirement accounts, work-life balance, the economy, and why everything costs approximately three times what it used to.

Honestly, who approved this?

Welcome to Heartland Millenial—a little corner of the internet for millennials who grew up in the ’90s and are now navigating the wonderfully weird experience of being adults.

So, Who Am I?

I’m the person behind Heartland Millenial, and like many of you, I’m somewhere between nostalgic for the days of low-rise jeans and grateful that we no longer have to wear them.

I’m a millennial who remembers a time when the internet wasn’t everywhere, a phone was something you called people on, and you could spend an entire afternoon doing absolutely nothing without feeling like you should be accomplishing something.

These days, life looks a little different.

We’re balancing careers, money, homes, relationships, responsibilities, and the occasional existential crisis over whether we’re actually doing adulthood correctly.

Spoiler alert: I don’t think anyone has the instruction manual.

And that’s kind of the point of this blog.

You don’t need to know every detail of my life to find something here that makes you laugh, reminds you of something you loved, or makes you say, “Wait. Is it just me?”

Because chances are, it isn’t.

What You’ll Find Around Here

Heartland Millenial is a mix of the things that catch my attention, make me curious, bring back a memory, or make me want to immediately send something to a friend.

Think of it as a conversation with someone who gets the reference when you say, “Back in my day…”

📼 Millennial Nostalgia & Pop Culture

The shows, songs, trends, toys, technology, and random little things that made growing up in the ’90s and early 2000s what it was.

The things we couldn’t wait to grow up and leave behind—and now would give anything to experience again.

From old-school internet memories to the pop culture moments that shaped us, there’s always room for a little nostalgia.

🌎 What’s Happening in the World

A millennial perspective on the things happening around us.

The trends, conversations, and everyday changes that make us stop and think, “Is this really where we’re at now?”

Sometimes thoughtful. Sometimes funny. Sometimes a little confusing.

Because keeping up with the world is exhausting enough without pretending we have all the answers.

💼 Careers, Money & Adulting

Work life. Money decisions. Trying to plan for the future while still enjoying the present.

The reality of being an adult when the advice we grew up with doesn’t always seem to apply anymore.

We’ll talk about the relatable parts of navigating careers, finances, and all those grown-up responsibilities nobody really prepared us for.

🏡 Home, Lifestyle & Things Worth Sharing

Products I’m using, things I discover, lifestyle ideas, and the little things that make everyday life more enjoyable.

Some things will be practical. Some will be fun. Some might just be something I think you need to know about.

Think of it as the kind of stuff you’d share with your group chat when you find something good.

😂 Humor, Observations & Real-Life Moments

Because sometimes the only way to get through adulthood is to laugh at it.

The weird things we do. The things we all think but don’t say out loud. The moments that make you wonder whether everyone else got a memo that you missed.

If you’ve ever Googled something you feel like you should already know, felt personally attacked by the price of groceries, or needed a five-minute break from being responsible, you’ll probably fit right in.

Why This Little Corner of the Internet?

Because I think there’s something special about finding people who understand the experience you’re having—even if you’ve never met them.

There’s a certain kind of nostalgia that comes from growing up in the ’90s.

We experienced a childhood before smartphones were attached to our hands, teenage years filled with changing technology, and an adulthood that seems to come with a new plot twist every other week.

We remember the old stuff.

But we’re also living through the new stuff.

And somewhere in between, we’re trying to make sense of it all.

This blog is my way of sharing the things I find interesting, funny, nostalgic, useful, or just plain worth talking about.

It’s not about having a perfect life or pretending to have everything figured out.

It’s about finding the humor in the chaos, appreciating the little things, and remembering that we’re probably not the only ones wondering what happened to the weekend.

A Place to Feel a Little Less Alone in the Chaos

I want Heartland Millenial to feel like a familiar place on the internet.

The kind of place you visit when you need a laugh, want to reminisce, are curious about something, or just feel like scrolling through something that speaks to where you are in life.

You might find something that takes you straight back to your childhood.

You might discover a product you didn’t know you needed.

You might read something about work, money, or life and think, “Okay, good. It’s not just me.”

And maybe you’ll find a little inspiration along the way.

No pressure to have everything together.

No need to pretend you’re not still nostalgic for the days when a Friday night meant renting a movie, ordering pizza, and staying up way too late.

We’re all just doing our best.

Stick Around

If you grew up in the ’90s, remember when life felt a little simpler, and now find yourself navigating the wonderfully complicated world of adulthood, I think you’ll feel right at home here.

If you appreciate a little humor, a little nostalgia, and someone sharing the things that make life interesting, there’s plenty to explore.

So grab your coffee, settle in, and take a look around.

You never know what you might find.

Thanks for stopping by Heartland Millenial

I’m glad you’re here.
